75th Anniversary of the End of WWII Commemoration Event

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming event in August of 2020! We are fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the Celebration of the end of WWII in Hawaii. Our museum’s 1945 Lockheed PV-2D Harpoon will be flown to Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, where she will be craned aboard a US Navy aircraft carrier. She will then be transported with other warbirds to Pearl Harbor, HI, to participate in the Legacy of Flight parades. Two WWII airmen veterans, Pat Patteson and Don Long (Pearl Harbor Survivor)  will be joining us and will be piloting the Harpoon over the Commemoration event above the USS Missouri, where the armistice was signed in 1945.

We need your help to get the plane ready for the trip, to get to San Diego and back, and to support our mission to get Pat and Don to fly for this incredible event.

Every cent helps us make this once in a lifetime event happen not only for the historical aircraft, but for the two WWII veterans who we are bringing with us to the commemoration and to fly over the Hawaiian islands. Everyone at the Stockton Field Aviation Museum extends a giant thank you for your help. Below is a breakdown of what your contribution will go towards:

Cylinder Change: $5,000
Bombbay Doors: $2,000
Fuel and Oil to and from the Naval Air Station of North Island: $8,000
Our Goal: $15,000 by August 1st!
